Session Two – Yoga Therapy for Muscular-Skeletal Conditions

Sessions 1 & 2  focus on Annamaya Kosha, the physical sheath. We will explore the musculoskeletal system with topics that include:


  • Fundamentals of structural alignment, including finding equanimity within the relationships between the axial and appendicular spine, the eight major joints, and the major and secondary curves of the spine
  • Critical factors of healthy structure, including posture, breath, functional movement patterns, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and functional adaptation of asana and sequencing
  • The definition and scope of Yoga Therapy and its relationship to associated Eastern and Western models for health and wellness.
  • Yoga Philosophy overview of Patanjali Yoga Sutras Chapter 1, Samkhya philosophy, and Hermetic Principles.
  • Introduction to teaching methodologies and therapeutic skills necessary for working with clients: Intake and history taking; Conducting structural assessments; Energetic listening skills, Motivational Interviewing, and Creating Powerful Questions; Goal setting; and introduction to SOAP notes
  • Anatomy of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine and related issues caused by dysfunctional movement, structural anomalies, age-related changes, and post-surgical and injury recovery
  • Anatomy of the shoulders, elbows and hands and related issues (listed above)
  • Working with issues of the pelvis, hips, knees, ankles and feet and related issues (listed above)
  • Supervised clinical experience
Session Three – Yoga Therapy for Physiological Conditions

Friday, October 30th, 2020 thru Sunday, November 8th, 2020

Session Four – Yoga Therapy fro Physiological Conditions

Friday, February 12th, 2021 thru Sunday, February 21st, 2021

Session 3 & 4 focus on the Pranamaya Kosha, the energy body. We’ll conduct a comprehensive examination of the body’s physiological systems including:

  • Ayurvedic Foundations for Health and Wellness
  • Autonomic Nervous System Regulation
  • Energetic ramifications of Pranayama practice and specific techniques for eliciting Brahmana and Langhana effects
  • Introduction of the Pancha Vayuu Model
  • Change Theory and Introduction to the Wellness Continuum
  • Teaching methodologies and therapeutic skills as they related to the body’s physiological systems and conditions, including intake and history taking BS examination of pertinent case studies
  • Patanjali Yoga sutras Chapter 2
  • Working with physiological conditions: Arthritis; Osteoporosis; Chronic Stress; Autoimmune disorders; Respiratory and Cardiac conditions; Endocrine and Reproductive health issues; and Central nervous system disorders
  • Supervised clinical experience
Session Five – Yoga Therapy fro Psycho-Emotional Conditions

Friday, May 21st 2021 thru Sunday, May 30th, 2021

Session Six – Yoga Therapy fro Psycho-Emotional Conditions

Friday, September 10th thru Sunday, September 19th, 2021

Sessions 5 & 6 focus on the Manomaya, Vjnamaya and Ananadamaya Kosha, the thinking, intuitive and faith bodies. We will delve into the realm of cognition and Psycho-Emotional Conditions, including:

  • Teaching methodologies and therapeutic skills related to resolving psycho-emotional issues that are within the scope of practice in Yoga Therapy. Including intake and history taking as it relates to psycho-emotional conditions. Examining case studies and working within the client’s therapeutic team.
  • Functional Brain Anatomy
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Chakra Model
  • Designing therapeutic groups
  • Cognitive reframing using Japa Mantra
  • Understanding when to refer out

We will also devote time during these sessions to the logistical process of building a sustainable Yoga Therapy Practice

  • Tools for building your business
  • Ethics and scope of practice.
  • Final project development
  • Supervised clinical experience.
Session Seven – Yoga Therapy for Advanced Topics

Friday January 7th, 2022 thru Sunday January 16th, 2022

Session Eight – Yoga Therapy fro Advanced Topics

Friday April 22nd 2022 thru Sunday, May 1st, 2022

Sessions 7 & 8 focus on Specialized Topics and Readiness for Creating a Professional Practice Upon Graduation

  • Sleep Issues
  • Poly vagal Theory
  • Working with Cancer survivors and caregivers
  • PTSD and Suicide
  • Addiction and maintaining Sobriety
  • Final take home exam
  • Final project presentations
  • Final practicum supervised clinic

800 Hour International Association of Yoga Therapist Certification Program
Tuition: $16,500
 A Non-Refundable Deposit of $1,500 is due to reserve your spot once your application has been accepted. Payment schedule for balance due as follows:
  • Paid in full 45 days prior to Program start: $13,000
  • (2) Installments: 45 days prior to Program start & 12 months after program starts: $7,500 each installment
  • (4) Installments: 45 days prior to start & (3) additional payments 6/12/18 months from program start: $3,900 each installment
  • (6) Installments: 45 days prior to program start & 5 additional payments 4/8/12/16/20 months from program start: $2,800 each installment
